Jake's work Christmas party. We had a very grump baby.
Yep, this is me trying to do a sad face like Reagan.
Bean, this picture is for you. She put up a fight in the grocery store and demanded we get the BBQ sauce that said Memphis on it.
I figured that I better post Reagan's 6 month a bit early because we are getting ready to head home and for the holidays. It's amazing that everyone finally gets to meet our little Miss Reagan. I get sad just think how fast the last 6 months have gone. It makes me realize that when your a parent time truly does fly. I remember my parents saying that when I was a kid and I just thought they were nuts. I know that when I tell Reagan the same thing one day she will feel the exact same way. I guess it's like so many other things you don't understand it until you actually live it yourself.
This month has been full of lots of changes for Reagan. The week after she turned 5 months old she was able to sit on her own. She can pretty much sit in place for a really long time if you place her there. It's just every once and a while she tries to look behind her and before you know it she has done a face plant. This is exactly what happen when we took her for her 6 month old pictures. Jake was on catching baby duty and I was trying to get her attention to smile. She was much more interested in looking at Daddy. She lost her balance and Jake didn't catch her in time. She did a face plant right into the hard floor. We then got the screaming hurt baby. She got a little boobie time and was a little happier during the pictures. It wasn't till the end when she got a 15 minute power nap along with some boob that she turned into happy baby. It had to happen right at the end of the pictures. I guess better to have some sort of happy baby then nothing at all.
This month Reagan also said her first real word. She started out with mama only when she is upset, but one night after her bath she said Mommy clear as day. Jake and I both looked at each other completely shocked. It was good that both of us were there because people would not of believed that our five and a half month old was able to say Mommy. This was also on the same night that she started using her big girl bath tub.
We went and viewed Reagan's 6 month pictures. They turned out so good, but I didn't expect much else from Andy. It's always hard to pick out pictures because I would buy them all if I could. I strongly suggest using the Portrait People if your in England. They do such great pictures and are a please to work with. I posted he slide show from her shoot below, with the info on how to get in contact with the photographer. They do a wide range of photos from babies to weddings. Reagan had her 6 month well baby check on December 17th, 2010. She weighted in at 19lbs=97% and 29 inches tall=100%. I was in total shock. I could not believe how big she had gotten. I guess she'll be the tall girl in school. I felt a little good because my body was able to do this for her. She is only getting boobie milk and no solids yet. I asked the doctor if I should worry that she will be obese when I start her on food. He looked at me like I was nuts and said, "She is not fat, but just a big girl." I guess she gets that from me because I was a big baby also.
I know that I'm writing this a bit before she turns 6 months on Sunday (December 19th), but we have an extremely busy weekend. I didn't want to not update her 6 months post. We are so thrilled for everyone to finally meet Reagan and for all that we have planned the next few weeks. I'll update the blog after the Holidays.
