Baby Due in June 2010!

Its official Jake and Candice are having a baby! We are so thrilled and blessed that we get to be parents. We found out we were expecting on October 13th, 2009. We had been trying to get pregnant for a long time. What they teach you in school about it being easy was not the case for us. I think that the saying the best things are worth waiting for is defiantly true in our case. We decided to wait until after the 1st trimester to spread the good news. At our 13 week ultrasound the baby measured great and looks perfect. Jake and I were amazed at how much it had changed from the dating ultrasound in just a few weeks. The baby was moving all over the place. We saw him/her flip from front to back, stretch out and even wave at us. Jake even asked the doctor if the baby was really doing that all on their own.

I would have to say that the first trimmest was not that bad for me. I was expecting to be praying to the porcelain every day, but that was not the case. I had a few weeks of pretty bad nauseous and gagging, but that was about it. I was a bit sleepy, but nothing to the extreme. I think that it helps that I don’t have a full time job. I have to say that overall I have been very lucky. It’s funny because when you find out your pregnant you expect to feel every symptom in the book. I started to worry because I did feel fine, but that is just me being worried all the time. My parents always said once you become a parent you will never stop worrying. I think that the day you find out your pregnant is the start of always worrying. Jake is doing great and very excited also. He is starting to feel more like we are having a baby, but for a while he said it doesn’t seem any different because I still look the same. I think that the fact that we are spreading the news helps make it feel more real.

I hope that everyone enjoyed our blog and follows along. I will try and updated it each week to let you know what is going on with us and our growing baby!

This was our first ultrasound taken at 9 weeks 4 days.

This was our second ultrasound taken at 12 weeks 4 days.

  5. My Aaron didn't 'get it' the way I did or do and that is very common and normal. I remember thinking he was missing out because he wasn't pregnant and able to carry the baby with him wherever he went. I felt so special being pregnant. Isn't it a miracle - just blows my mind! It sounds like you are having a great time being 'in the family way' and I am so happy for you.
