Long Weekend to see the Daddy~

I can’t describe how difficult it is to be away from your: best friend, your better half, the love of your life, the father of your child & your husband. The only people that would understand this is those who have been through it. I have to say that I have been extremely lucky because it has been almost 3 years since Jake did his last deployment, and we had to be separated for any stretch of time. I’m so lucky that he is not deployed and just doing some training to better his career. It doesn’t make it any easier, but that is just part of life for us. Now that we have Reagan it’s that much harder when we all have to be separated. That is the main reason that we decided to bundle the rest or our Delta airline miles together and fly out to DC to see Jake for a long weekend.

When we are together again the time just flies by. Reagan was so thrilled to see her Daddy, and he was even more excited. I was so proud of myself for being able to travel with Reagan, and get to the base all alone. We have spent most of our long weekend just hanging out around the hotel room. It’s nice just to sleep late, and not do much of anything. We did venture into DC one afternoon and see some of the sights. It was super cold, but we had to at least see a few things before we left town. We also ventured up to have dinner with some good friends. It was so fun for them to finally meet Reagan. She was in such a good mood that she made it look like being a parent was super easy. She is a really good baby, but being a parent is a bit harder then it looked that night Brian & Tiffany! Jake really enjoyed spending time with his friends also. It’s so crazy how they can be apart, but when you stick them in a room together it’s as if nothing has changed. I guess that is how you can tell if it’s true friendship. I hope that everyone enjoys the pictures. We’re going to miss Jake so much, but the time will pass and soon enough we’ll be together again.
