Week 23 was supposed to be an easy week, but I think that when you think that it will go the complete opposite. On Monday February 22 we had our check up and everything went great. I worked all day and came home with a massive headache and all day just could not wake up. I blamed this on the fact that I have not worked much at all and that I spent all day with 5th and 1st graders. Then the next day I still woke up with a headache. I went to work and then was not feeling well and only lasted about half the day. I called my midwife and she was out and spoke with another midwife. I ended up going and hanging out in the hospital for a few hours. They wanted to check me out and make sure that I was hydrated (I had been sick) and due to some other issues that I was not leaking any amniotic fluid. After the midwife checked me out and I waited for the doctor to show up our baby was having a hay day inside of me. I think she just wanted to say, “Hey mom, I’m in here and everything is okay with me.” I wish Jake was there because it was crazy how much she was moving around. I was staring at my stomach because it looked like seizer was going on inside of my belly. I was amazed at how much she was moving. It lasted about 15 minutes and then she was calm the rest of the evening. I was so happy that I had brought a book.
I felt better 24 hours after having the flu. It was so wonderful to not be getting sick and I’m pretty sure I got my appetite back tenfold. I have been really good about eating, but feel like I’m packing on the pounds all of a sudden. I did manage to fall down a few stairs on Wednesday when I was supposed to be taking it easy from the flu. I was lucky that it was just on my bottom and elbow, but I got a nice rug burn on my arm from it.
I was a nut and decided to go back to work on Thursday and Friday. Hey when you hardly ever work you need to take it when it comes. It’s not the end of week 23 and I’m feeling much better and getting very excited about my trip next week. I can’t wait to be back in Washington. I’m not looking forward to the 14 hour flight, but I figure now that I got sick I should be good from all the germs on the air craft. I hope to see lots of you while I’m back and at my baby shower. I guess that is about all to report for now. I’m just growing and getting more pregnant! Oh, I forgot the best thing that happen this week. I had my first almost experience that someone tried to rub my belly. This lady put her arm out towards me and then pulled it back. This went on a few minutes and it was pretty amusing. I guess I'm getting large enough that people I don't know well want to rub the belly!
